The John S. James Co. offers a wide variety of transportation services that enhance the efficiency of your operations. Our expertise in the transportation, handling and distribution of cargo make us a valuable asset to any supply-chain process.

Domestic Transportation
We maintain volume-based rates with major domestic carriers throughout the United States that translate into cost savings for your company. Our expert personnel arrange, dispatch and monitor your freight from origin to delivery. We are able to provide Proof-of-Delivery for all shipments via phone, fax or E-mail within hours of delivery.

Chartering (Air & Ocean)
James Chartering, a division of the John S. James Co., was formed to better serve the needs of companies engaged in or contemplating entering into the international charter market. Our various offices plus our contacts in New York and abroad keep us knowledgeable of current market conditions and allow us to expedite air freight and ocean freight.

Project Services
The John S. James Co. operates a Special Project Services system designed to assist firms in the movement, warehousing and installation of their plants, furniture, fixtures and expendable items. The Project Service section of the John S. James Co. has provided its services to customers the world over. A trained staff of customer service representatives coordinates the movement of merchandise from the door of the vendor to a designated plant site, hotel, public building or warehouse facility.

Warehousing
Our firm operates warehousing facilities in several locations throughout the South. In locales where we do not physically operate our own facility, we maintain partnerships with numerous storage providers and associations, giving us full coverage both in the U.S. and abroad.

Duty Drawback
Obtaining refunds of import duties paid to the U.S. government on eligible merchandise can have a positive effect on an importer’s overall profitability. Our experts evaluate your transactions, and determine if your shipments are eligible for this U.S. Customs sponsored program and what documentation must be prepared in order to speed your claims. Our Duty Drawback processes are customized to meet the specialized needs of your organization, pertaining to claim requirements.
